I decided that there is no time but the present to start dropping some knowledge....boom! We are in quarantine and I am choosing to be proactive and grow - Today that is... tomorrow is pancake day for my kids 😝
People have requested I write a blog, "a who?!" I'm old school... this technology thing is new to me. To be honest I've never even read a blog let alone write one. So I'm going to do this my way :::wink::: I love receiving messages and bumping into people who stop to tell me a post of mine really spoke to them or opened their eyes in some way... it really gives me a sense of accomplishment that my messages reach people and help! Likewise, I have clients that still contact me from years ago and discuss ways that I have helped them. This truly warms my heart and makes me believe in my career. Change is a process - It starts small... if I can be a tiny little piece that assists with change than I have lived up to my mission!
As many of you know, I have been a psychotherapist for over ten years with specializations in substance abuse, teen & adolescent work, women's health and trauma/secondary trauma/burn out. I'm an avid exerciser with a passion for boxing and MMA training. A few years ago I decided to obtain my personal training certificate to bring together my love for self care of the mind and body.
And what a beautiful combination... as a therapist I get to use words to communicate and describe feelings and actions... as a personal training I use my body, motion and exercise to SHOW how I feel and what I need. They are two very different worlds that marry together so well and compliment one another so beautifully. Exercise has helped me heal...but that's a different article for a different day 😳
My position in my business has expanded over the last two years to more supervisory and administrative as I now have a team of 7 AMAZING clinicians who provide in home therapeutic services for children, adolescents and teens with a wide range of mental health and substance abuse needs. I have been stepping back from direct clinical practice as duty calls in other areas of the agency - so knowing the content of my social media is reaching and resonating with people gives me all the one on one practice feels that I'm missing out on! So THANK YOU! Keep your feedback coming! XoX
All this being said, I suppose I have some qualifications to spread knowledge and bring practical self care tips to the public. Let's see how it goes 🤪
Anyhow, I'd love to hear from you. What topics would you like me to discuss? I need to hear from YOU! Shoot me a message, an email or PM my social media. Check us out on IG or Facebook @JerseyShoreWellnessStudio.
