Therapy has evolved drastically over the last thirty years. Previously, it was assumed that only individuals with chronic, long term needs sought out treatment. This stigma has reduced significantly, normalizing the experience of counseling.
Research shows that approximately 1 in 5 individuals have mental health needs. The concept of therapy can be a preventative measure for some individuals. It can assist someone in addressing problematic areas of their life before they worsen or symptoms increase. Having a safe place to find and express your emotions and needs can be a very empowering experience and greatly reduce symptoms you have been experiencing.

what should i expect?
Sessions are 30 or 45 minutes in length. The initial session will require you to complete brief paperwork. In addition, we will need to ask you some questions about yourself/your child in order to get to know you/your child a little bit better. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, express your concerns, and get to know us as well.
Our clinicians customize treatment based on each individual, so you can expect to make yourself cozy and engage in therapeutic activities or conversation that make you/your child feel comfortable. If you are bringing your child to treatment, you may stay in the waiting area or in your car, whichever you prefer.
